Hello.
This is Smile Digital Dental Clinic, providing digital dentistry in Seomyeon.
When planning laminate veneer treatment, it is not only about making the teeth white and even,
and that is not the only thing we consider.
We need to check together the color and shape of the existing teeth, the bite where the teeth meet,
and the range in which laminate veneers can be applied.
Today we introduce the case of a patient in her 40s who had teeth whitening first and then had laminate veneers on the six upper front teeth,
taking the color, shape, and bite of the front teeth into account.

She Was Worried About the Color and Shape of Her Front Teeth
The patient is a woman in her 40s.
She first visited because an old restoration on the lower right was uncomfortable,
and during treatment she asked whether the color and shape of her front teeth could also be improved.
When we examined the front teeth, there was an area between the teeth that needed treatment,
and color differences in the form of white spots and streaks were seen on the tooth surfaces.
She wanted to brighten the color of her front teeth and improve their overall shape
so that it looked more harmonious.
After discussing her oral condition and the treatment direction she wanted, we planned teeth whitening
and laminate veneers on the six upper front teeth.

We Also Checked the Bite Before the Laminate Veneers.
We also checked the bite from the side.
Some front teeth showed an edge-to-edge relationship, where the upper and lower tooth edges meet,
and a crossbite was seen in the canine area.
Because laminate veneers are thin restorations, we have to consider not only the shape of the front teeth
but also what forces are applied to the veneers when the teeth come together.
For this patient as well, after checking the existing bite,
we planned the shape and extent of the laminate veneers.

Why Did We Whiten the Teeth Before Placing Laminate Veneers?
Because she wanted both teeth whitening and laminate veneers,
we did the teeth whitening first.
Restorations such as laminate veneers themselves do not get brighter with teeth whitening.
So if we brighten the natural teeth first and then decide the veneer shade by referring to the changed tooth color, it helps us consider harmony with the surrounding natural teeth.
For this patient too, we did the teeth whitening first, checked the changed tooth color, and then decided the laminate veneer shade.
Before whitening, this patient's tooth color was in the A2 to A3 range,
and after whitening we confirmed a brighter color.

Laminate Veneers on the Six Upper Front Teeth
Referring to the natural tooth color changed by the whitening,
we carried out laminate veneer treatment on the six upper front teeth.
We do not look at each front tooth separately;
we considered the overall shape together, including left-right symmetry, tooth length and width, tooth axis,
and the continuity through to the canines.
While checking the bite relationship of the front teeth observed earlier,
we adjusted the shape and contact of the laminate veneers.
After placing the final laminate veneers, we checked not only the color and shape but also how the upper and lower teeth meet.

Before-and-After Comparison
Let's compare the before-and-after photos.
Teeth whitening brightened the natural teeth,
and the six upper front teeth had their color and shape adjusted with laminate veneers.
They were made so that the length and width of the front teeth and the shape of the left and right teeth harmonize with the surrounding teeth,
and we also checked the bite after final placement.
Laminate Veneers Are Not Decided by Color Alone.
When planning front tooth laminate veneers, rather than aiming only for a bright color,
it is important to look together at the condition of the existing teeth, the amount of tooth reduction, tooth length and width, left-right symmetry, the bite,
and more.
In particular, if you are also planning teeth whitening, which treatment is done first
should also be considered when deciding the color of the final restoration.
If you are looking into laminate veneers in Busan or front tooth laminate veneers in Seomyeon,
first check not only the color and shape you want but also your current tooth condition and bite,
and get a consultation on the treatment method that suits you.

Treatment methods and results vary from person to person, and sensitivity, discomfort, or fracture or detachment of the restoration may occur after laminate veneer treatment. Depending on the tooth condition and bite, laminate veneers may not be suitable or another treatment may be needed, so a thorough examination and consultation are required before treatment.

When planning treatment, it is a good idea to first check the current color and shape of your teeth, how they meet, and the condition of your gums. Even for front tooth treatment, which method is suitable—whitening, a restoration, or orthodontics—can differ from person to person. Before your consultation, it helps to note what bothers you, the tooth color and shape you want, and the dates you can visit, which makes the examination and consultation much smoother. After the examination, Smile Digital Dental Clinic explains the treatment method and period that fit your teeth and schedule, and if you are a busy professional who needs fast treatment or are preparing for a wedding, please let us know your schedule before your visit and we will check the possible range of treatment together.
